Permission Permission Permission

This is a screen capture from a new video showing everything that went on at Tipperary Institutes Pen & Pixel Exhibition

This has been one of the most interesting video’s i’ve edited to date. The biggest issue with videoing an exhibition is asking permision from some of the featured artests. I would of first thought that people would be excited to have their work in a video but I was partly wrong. Every piece of creative work is in itself a piece of art. It’s ofter a piece of work very close to the creators heart and not everyone wants to hand it to someone and hope they show it in good light.

In some cases a video can be shot and it doesn’t matter how long it takes to edit, these videos are timeless, but in the case of an event very often the video should be edited and put up as soon as possible while people still have it on their minds. So i’ve learned a big lesson here, I should have brought permission forms and asked people on the night can I showcase their work. The truth is I didn’t start off to make a big deal out of the editing of this film, but when I got home to look at the footage I really got very excited and ideas came right at me. I got a lot of inspiration from the artist themselves. They put their heart and soul into their work and so should I.

This is the first big project that I needed to get permission to use images and video clips. I’d like to thank everyone who did let me use their work. I love featuring other people’s work and hopefully promote them in anyway I can.
